Best Toys for One Year Old’s!
Sharing some great toys that I got Dane for his first birthday and ones Dane already loves!
I can’t believe my sweet Dane is already one years old! This year felt like it flew by and went slow all at the same time. I’m starting to really love this phase he’s in right now; he’s constantly exploring, saying new words and starting to play more with Kennedy! I really wanted to make his birthday special this year, despite the COVID-19 craziness happening now. I am putting together all of his decorations for his first birthday and will be doing a small party with family and friends at the end of this month. I will share all the party details soon!
I want to get him a few toys for his birthday this year that will last him into his 2nd year. I found the majority of his one year birthday presents at buybuyBABY!! Below I’m sharing some great toys I ordered for Dane and that your little one would love as well!
- I just got this water table and the kids LOVE it! It’s great because it’s a little bit bigger (longer) than the normal water tables, so when we have cousins and friends over more than two kids can gather around it! If your kids are obsessed with anything to do with water, they will so LOVE it and enjoy it all summer long! In the winter it can totally double as a “sensory table” and fill with anything that will keep their interest! The one we have is currently sold out online, but here is a similar one!
2. Dane is a huge fan of this ride-on push car!!! It is so much fun to push him outside while Kennedy is playing! He loves being able to do something other than sitting in the stroller and feel like such a big boy! I also will put him in there with some snacks while I do a quick workout outside- occupies him for a good while! So for his 1st Birthday I want to get Dane this classic Little Tikes Cozy Coupe truck and love how it is rugged but pretty neutral in color! I think it will be fun for him to be more “independent” with this when he wants to just scoot around in it. It has a floor board for when they’re small\ so they don’t fall through the bottom, then you can remove it for when they’re old so this toy really grows with them! I also love how the horn has a pre-recorded realistic truck sound!
3. Shapes, problem solving and grasping is really important for little one’s development- especially at this age! I love all of these Melissa and Doug puzzles! They’re big, chunky and simple. Right now about 1-3 piece puzzles are great for your little one to work on to learn the animals and fine motor skills. I got him this barn animal puzzle and this pet puzzle as well.
4. Dane LOVES animals and is just starting to recognize and mimic animal noises! This Barnyard Animal set is great because when you squeeze them they play the animal noises! It helps them by encouraging them to learn through the sounds and visual of the animal. These will be so fun to bring with us to the park or keep in the car too since they’re soft! These barn yard animal puppets are also really cute! These hand puppets great for imaginative play and a great way for you to interact and engage with your baby during playtime. So both of you will have fun!!
5. These sensory balls are great and can be taken anywhere! He is such a boy and is obsessed with balls- his favorite word right now is “Ball!!” I also got him this larger ball as well. So these will be great for gripping and practicing his throwing!
6. Dane LOVES this Fisher Price Barn Toy! He loves opening the barn doors with the button, hearing the sounds and songs, ringing the bell, and all the animals it comes with. This is a great toy that can grow and last a long time and my toddler Kennedy enjoys it as well!
7. I got Dane this musical set and drum and he loves it!! He loves dancing to music and making noise. This keeps him and Kennedy entertained together for a long time.
8. Anything that has buttons, is a phone or remote, Dane is instantly attracted to!! I got him this tech set trio! The set comes with a realistic set of keys, iPhone and a remote and he loves it! I also got him this learning remote as well and he loves this too!
9. One of the best purchases we got for Dane was this learning walker! Dane can walk around with the assistance of this walker and he enjoys playing with all the cool features on the front. You can also remove the play station from the front, and it can be used as a floor activity center.
10. I’m also going to get him a few new books! I love reading to him and we’ve been rotating the same ones recently so I’m excited to get these and start reading this with him! Below are some books I recently got for him:
