Happy Friday! Hope you are ready for weekend and have some fun things planned! We are planning on seeing the new Leonardo DiCaprio movie The Revenant, eat some yummy food at our fav restauarants here in Houston, do some exploring and shopping, and of course shoot some blog pics! I’m so grateful my hubby is willing and always excited to take all my pictures for my blog- especially after working 80-90 hour work weeks!! He is definitely the other half behind my blog, and puts so much of his free time and effort in helping it grow!! Before I met him, I always thought of starting a blog and I actually had one with my twin sister, but I wasn’t truly passonite about it. When we were first dating, I casually mentioned I had a (the other) blog, and he can tell I wasn’t too proud of it. He believed in me before I even had a website for A Touch of Pink, or before he even saw my work! Lol But he really has given me the encouragement and confidence to pursue blogging, and has been nothing but 100% supportive and happy for me along the way!
I feel like the first six months of starting my blog was kind of a blur. Haha I remember trying to juggle being a full-time student in college (I attended BYU in Provo, Utah), planning our wedding in only 4 1/2 months with basically with no family there to help me, and still have time to workout and do things with Alex. It was defiantly challenging, and I felt like I was still working out the kinks and getting used to the whole blogging world. I noticed since I have been committing myself fully to my blog and have made it my number one priority, I have seen so much more success and growth. I truly believe that being consistent with posting, posting great content and pictures readers will love to see, and keeping up to date with emails and posting on time, are key factors in succeeding! It is also a big time commitment and despite what people believe, a lot of hard work!! It’s lots of emails, planning posts with the companies your working with, and planning shoots and locations. Then after hours of shooting, coming home and spending hours editing pictures, then posting and writing the content! In addition to staying up to date with IG and social media posts (and juggling school, work, and just life in general)! But if you truly love it, which I truly do, then it won’t seem like work! I have this picture hanging in my office that says, “make your passion your paycheck.” Whenever I’m feeling down or discouraged, I look at it and know I rather being doing something I love that takes a lot of dedication than something I am not passionate about! I definitely think posting at least two times a day on your social media channels and around four-five times a week on you blog is where you will see faster results and success. Also, networking with other bloggers and doing blog webinars has helped out a lot with learning about blogging! I recommend sitting down and brainstorm all the ideas you have for your blog and write them all down! Seeing everything on paper really helps me solidify my goals, and is the first step to action! Also, take a look at your favorite bloggers and see what “vibe” or overall story they tell on their feeds for inspiration for your own blog. Honing in on your specific look and feel of your blog will also help you gain and keep followers! I have so many big goals for my blog for 2016 including posting more YouTube videos and having my channel grow, be more engaging with my followers and readers, and be able to continue to do what I love even more and see it grow!!! I would love to hear what questions you have about starting a blog or anything you would want to know! Also, I am planning on doing more YouTube videos really soon, and I’d LOVE to hear what you want to see! Let me know what tutorials or videos you would like me to do!! Let me know in the comments below or feel free to email me: katelynpacitto@gmail.com!
So about my outfit I’m wearing- I’m loving this checkered plaid blouse with my soft frayed scarf! I lovveee scarves and got this one from Shein– and it’s under $15!!)! It also comes in four different colors! I ordered this blouse a size bigger for a loose fit and it fits really good! I have been liking looser fitting tops just because I think it falls better with jeans. I have a longer torso to begin with, but I hate when tops are shorter and don’t at least cover my bum a little bit! haha But I think it’s a great blouse that can be worn year round! Thanks for reading and I wish you the best weekend! XOXO
