Cozy and Festive Child Christmas Bedroom Decor!
Here I’m sharing how I decorate my child’s bedroom to make it festive for the Holidays by using Christmas tree decorations, and other cute holiday decor!
Tis’ the season to get out the ribbon, wreaths and twinkle lights because the holidays are right around the corner and it’s my favorite time of the year! One of my absolute favorite Christmas traditions is decorating the children’s rooms and decking it out with everything whimsical and cozy!
One thing about being a mom that I love is creating these traditions for them to make the season magical and a memorable tradition they can look back on I see it as them only being so little for a short amount of time, so I want to make sure I make the most of these years when they still believe and feel that Christmas spirit. This year I wanted to do a cozy “Ski Lodge” theme for his room. I always pick a “theme” for their rooms and it makes it easy to pick out decor that goes with that!
For Dane’s Christmas bedding, I found this twin sized tartan plaid comforter from Amazon (the pillow shams are here) find that is almost identical to the Pottery Barn bedding set I had been eyeing. It is a fraction of the price and really makes the room so festive-I love it with his white treehouse loft bed and the stringed lights for a rustic and homey feel.
I added these brown faux fur pillows to really cozy up his bed too. To make it a little more whimsical I attached mini Christmas lights around the bed to make it look like an actual house and I added two 10” mini wreaths to the windows of his bed with these clear mini command hooks. I used clear mini outdoor cable clips to secure the stringed lights around the bed. Dane LOVES the lights around his bed and turning the main light off and reading books in his leather lounger or in his bed. It gives off the most magical ambiance at nightime!
Every year I always add a little Christmas tree to their rooms and this year I found this amazing mini 5 ft. flocked tree from Amazon. I’m obsessed with the size and quality and it is so pretty in person! I decided to put it in this basket instead of a collar or tree skirt. I love how it turned out! In another post, I show you how I secured the tree in the basket without a stand. I found these adorable vintage car and camper ornaments from Target and this rattan star that goes with the beachy theme for his room.
I found this adorable large NOEL print (an Etsy find) to go in this frame that is hung above his little PBK kitchen. I use this large 24”x36” poster frame to put it in. They got this play kitchen for Christmas years ago and I have to say it is one of the best splurges we’ve gotten! They have used it almost every single day since. I’ve added a few things to the kitchen over the years to keep it fun and interesting like this hunter green Hearth & Hand mixer, a plaid tea towel and a little wreath and trees to add those festive touches!
I love this leather ottoman so much, it’s the perfect place to snuggle up and read our favorite books together. I added these cute Slumberkin reindeer, this Santa pillow and this “North Pole” pennant I found here! Some of our favorite Christmas books to read are “How to Catch a Reindeer,” “Santa Stops at Disneyland,” “Twas’ the Night Before Christmas.” Nothing makes me happier than Christmas books!
For his dresser I found a “Ski Lodge” sign from the Dollar Spot section at Target, and I put on it with some little trees and this adorable Hearth & Hand wooden train toy that is absolutely adorable and so timeless! Also, I framed a couple of his Christmas photoshoot pics to put on his dresser. We did a Christmas themed photoshoot and with Santa a couple years back, and we are going this week again too!
I hope you enjoyed this tour of Dane’s “Ski Lodge” Christmas room as much as I did putting it all together! It really is a magical touch to add to your holiday decor to bring the spirit of Christmas into your home.

Wonderful, many thanks. recently, I kept pestering Hamish to add a section, but now I realise I can do it myself.
