FEEDING MY HAIR WHAT IT NEEDS WITH HAIR FOOD…
In this post I’m talking all about the Hair Food shampoo and conditioner I use to get my hair healthy, shiny, and feeling nourished again!
Not long ago, I was dealing with dry and brittle hair that was losing its luster in this cold and dry winter weather. Going from the humid weather in the south to the dry, desert-like weather here in Southern California really did change my hair and its health. Also, the hair products I used weren’t working so well or doing their job for what my hair needed. Basically, my hair was crying for some nourishment and to be fed the right products to bring it back to life. I was using a shampoo and conditioner I used for a LONG time and thought for the price it was doing an okay job. I find it very hard to justify spending a ton of money on a product I use and replace so often.
The shampoo and conditioner will literally be washed down the drain along with my money. I have long hair so I go through shampoo and conditioner super-fast, so I need something at a good price but also does an amazing job! Back in December, when my hair started to get pretty dry and my ends started to look brittle, I tried finding a great, affordable shampoo and conditioner. I went to a popular beauty supply store and I kid you not, almost everything the lady said worked the “best” and would repair my hair was around $50 for EACH shampoo and conditioner and the bottles were tiny. I almost cried haha, said no thanks, and just went back to using my regular stuff. I was so happy when I was approached by Hair Food to try out their Moisture collection. I read amazing reviews about the collection online and was so excited to use it! I was thinking this could be the answer to what my hair was needing. I have been using it for two weeks now with lots of washes. I am excited to share why I truly love this collection and how it has changed my hair.
What I love most about the Moisture collection is the difference in my hair’s texture. The shampoo rinses really well, which I like. I feel like after rinsing out the shampoo it doesn’t leave my hair feeling rough and dry, like my previous one did. I love using the conditioner because a little goes a long way. Before I would have to use a handful of conditioner to get my hair feeling soft. I use just a small amount of the moisture conditioner and let it set on my hair for about 1-2 minutes. I rinse with cool/ lukewarm water and my hair feels so incredibly soft and detangled right away. I switch off between air drying my hair and blow drying it during the week. After using the products for the first time, I blow dried my hair. It was such a drastic and noticeable change my hair had gone through! It was super soft and my ends were no longer dry and brittle.
So, my hair gets weighed down easily and greasy easily with lots of products and conditioner. But after using this conditioner, my hair felt super soft and lightweight, plus had nice volume! I get my hair highlighted with bleach and it also goes through a lot of heat damage with curling it several times a week. But for how blonde I am and the heat I use on it, you would never guess with how healthy it looks now! Another thing I love about Hair Food and this collection is how reasonably priced it is for the amazing results you get- each bottle is only $9.99! Some collections are free of parabens, silicones, and mineral oil and don’t contain all those harsh chemicals you normally find in shampoos and conditioners. The smell is also so amazing and I love the honey and apricot fragrance. My hair smells clean all day long!
