My Christmas Tablescape and Camp MacKenzie-Childs
I’m finally sharing my Christmas Tablescape and all about my stay at Camp MacKenzie-Child’s in Upstate New York!
I have been dying to share all about my trip to Camp MacKenzie-Childs this past October! I was so grateful to have been chosen to go on this trip and see first-hand how everything is made. The Little Voice PR team was so amazing and everyone at the Inns and the headquarters were so knowledgeable about the brand and products. I truly got the feeling right away how this company is the heart and soul of so many people in Aurora, New York. I can see how so many people around the world have fallen in love with MacKenzie-Childs! I am such a huge fan of the brand after discovering all the amazing products they have and the time and effort that goes into making them.
During Camp MacKenzie-Child’s we stayed at an Inn called the E.B. Morgan House in Aurora, NY for the entire week! I flew in a day early, because I’m all the way on the West Coast. But this gave me time to explore the grounds and get all settled in after full day of traveling. I also was in my 1st trimester of my pregnancy. Mama was so tired, and I came down with a sickness too. But the wonderful and amazing Innkeeper Jerry made me feel right at home. She was so incredibly sweet and did so much to help me out and make me feel comfortable! The Innkeepers at E.B. Morgan house made the most delicious homemade granola bars, and always made sure I was taken care of. Also, the lunches and dinners we had were soo delicious!! The Inn was so spectacular and the grounds were so picturesque. It was still Fall in upstate New York, and I was amazed by all the Fall foliage everywhere. Aurora, New York is one of those cute and charming East Coast towns with cute shops and houses. To me, it was something out of a movie!
The next few days were filled with so many fun activities! Some things we did was tour the MacKenzie-Childs Farmhouse, cooking class to learn how to make an apple pie, designed our own silk scarfs, we saw first-hand the process on how the MacKenzie-Childs ceramic products are made at the headquarters, painted pie plates, and much more! All the activities they had planned for us were so fun but I would say the tour of the headquarters was so amazing. It was so cool to see behind the scenes, and each step every item goes through to be completed. They hand make every ceramic item there, so the process is long and a lot of detail is put into every item they make. At the MacKenzie-Childs Headquarters, we got to see the painters hand painting the dishes and the people who do all the pottery! You might be seeing how much each item costs, and think that is way too much to spend. But trust me, every item is worth every penny and is such amazing quality! They are truly keepsake, heirloom items that can be passed down for generations. You can get a small item and have it be the start to your own MacKenzie-Child’s collection!
I’m also so excited to share with you my Christmas Tablescape! Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday and I love going all out with the decorations. It’s so fun to bring that Christmas magic into our home, especially with Kennedy now. She loves Christmas and gets super excited when she sees Christmas decorations or watches a Christmas movie with us. Now that we are settled into our new house, I have had so much fun decorating this year. When we were touring the headquarters, we got to explore the M-C store. I got an idea of what collections I loved the most and we also got a sneak peek of the Christmas decorations for Winter 2018. In the store, I was able to mix-n-match the dinnerware to come up with a design I liked for my own table at home. Seeing it all laid out in person definitely helped me figure out what I liked.
I spent lots of time going through the MacKenzie-Childs website and seeing everything they have! There were a lot of pieces that I didn’t see in person. Some of my favorite collections are the Sweetbriar Collection, Courtly Check, Parchment Check, and Flower Market. The Sweetbriar Collection is a beautiful neutral, white, gold, and bright collection. This can be easily mixed and matched with all the patterns MacKenzie-Childs has, and can be used all year round. I chose the Sweetbriar charger and dinner plates for my Christmas dinner set, so I can use them year-round for my different holiday tablescapes. I also love the classic Courtly Check pattern for accenting the plates. They really pop and add a nice accent print to the neutral plates. I got the Courtly Check salad plates and some beautiful Christmas decorations with the Courtly Check print. For my napkin I used this cute snowflake napkin with the gold flower Sweetbriar napkin ring. I love the garland that I have laid across the table. It can be used for your tablescape, fireplace mantle, entertainment center, etc. I also have the matching small tabletop tree on the table in the background!
