NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

I love a great workout jacket, and I found this Lululemon one from Amazon.com! I love the dotted print and how incredibly comfy it is! All my friends rave about Lululemon, but it isn’t until I got this jacket for myself, that I am a forever fan of this brand. I wore it with these new Yummie leggings. These leggings have a high waistband and it hold your tummy in really tight. They are almost like compression pants, but can be worn everyday as leggings! They are also really comfortable and i feel confident wear tight shirts with them because it makes my tummy look flat! haha!
I can’t believe Christmas is already over and it’s now New Year’s Eve! This past month has been so crazy busy especially having a newborn now. Looking back on the past year, I feel like it has been the most exciting, busy, most memorable year to date. Last January I found out I was pregnant with our baby girl, I spent most of 2016 pregnant with her, and I gave birth to Kennedy this September! I know it sounds cliche, but becoming a mommy has been the most amazing and fulfilling thing that has ever happened to me. Nothing in the world makes me happier and brings me more satisfaction, than caring for her and being a mom. I have learned SOO much this past year about myself and what I am capable of. I’ve learned to become less selfish, work harder, and care for a baby. Having a baby has helped me try to become a better person every day. I am her whole world and she will look up to me, so it makes me want to be the best I can be and set a good example for her.
I have thought about some New Year’s Resolutions and decided I don’t want a huge long list of goals that I will never get to. Instead, I want to focus on three main things and have those be my main goals for the new year. First, I want to be a better and more relaxed mom! Better as in keeping striving to do my best everyday and give all my self and love to Kennedy! Even though I will fail and not be perfect at being a parent, striving to do our best and be better for our kids is all they need! I also want to start being more relaxed when it comes to being a parent as well. After having Kennedy, I got post pardum anxiety and worry about almost every little thing about her. I think it started after birth and the traumatic experience of that and her being in the NICU. Since I am constantly worrying about her health, safety, and development, it has hindered me from seeing the bigger picture. I’m just going to try to sit back, not worry and just try to relax!!!
Secondly, I want to get back into working out at least 4 days a week and eating really healthy! Before I left for our vacation in California, I was waking up at 6am everyday and doing 25-45 minute workouts! I have also been trying to eat healthy as well. Not only do I feel better after I work, I have been noticing results pretty quick which makes me happy! I have been doing the Beachbody workout T25, and every other day I will do Ab Ripper X. At first it was SOO hard for me to finish the whole thing, and I would have to take lots of breaks. But after a week or so, I was able to finish both of them with only a few small breaks! I notice my muscle definition is coming back, and my body is getting back into shape. I wasn’t able to workout for mostly all of my pregnancy, so getting back into working out was really difficult for me. I still have about 10 pounds left to lose, so getting back to my pre-baby weight this year would be great. I know though that it took me 9 months to put it on, so it will take about the same to be back to where I was before. My goal is to continue to workout and eat as healthy as I could! I always feel my best when I do both those things!!!
Thirdly, I want to make it a goal to be a better wife and friend! What is life without our family and friends to make it fun?! I heard someone in church once say to “out serve each other,” when referring to a husband and wife. So my goal is to do more things to help my husband and try to be more service oriented in my daily life. My husband helps me so much with the baby when he isn’t working, so I want to find ways to give back even more as well! I think that quote can apply to friends as well. Even just texting and reaching out to a friend you haven’t seen or spoken to in a while, or dropping off food to someone who is sick or know has no time to make dinner. Serving those around me like Christ would is my third goal of the New Year!
Thanks for following along my journey and blog, and being so great to me! I love each and everyone of you and love reading your comments and messages! Have a great New Year!!! XOXO
