Today I want to share with you my recent summer makeup routine and all the products I use everyday from Nordstrom! I get almost all of my beauty products and makeup from Nordstrom because of the large selection and how knowledgeable the employees are! I always get help finding the right color I need and if something doesn’t work, they have amazing customer service to help me out. Nordstrom is my go-to place for all my summer beauty needs!
When I am transitioning from Spring to Summer, there are a few things I always add to my regular beauty routine! I always invest in a great self-tanner such as this one I swear by from St. Tropez in the color “Dark.” It gives me the perfect rich, brown, tan color without having to lay out and damage my skin. I apply it with this applicator mitt and it never gets on my hands. It looks best when you shave and exfoliate before applying. For applying my self-tanner, I always apply it at night before bed. I will shower, shave, and exfoliate with an exfoliating glove. Then after drying off, I apply a tiny amount of this oil-free lotion to my knees, bottom of my feet, elbows and palms and make sure its well rubbed in. Then I put one pump of the tanning mousse onto the mitt and start with my neck and chest, then my arms, stomach and lastly my legs. I sometimes will apply a small second layer on the top of my arms and legs again for better results. Make sure you have already washed your face for the night before tanning, because you can’t get any water on your hands or body until the next day. I will let it dry for a little bit before putting on my pajamas. I sleep overnight with the tanner on in a long sleeve top and bottoms to avoid getting it on my sheets. In the morning you should rinse it off with warm water and try to avoid rubbing soap on your body for 24 hours after rinsing it off to help it last longer. I will do this every 4-5 days and it will last the whole time. You should apply an oil-free lotion right after you shower and at night as well! I don’t put tanner on my face because I like exfoliating and using masks, which takes it off anyways. So instead, to get my face to match my body, I will mix a pump of a darker shade of foundation with my regular foundation. I also have a pressed powder in a darker shade that I will use all over my face to help it match my body.

I usually start out with my makeup with my face, and then do my eyes! I have been using the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in the color “Wheat” and it is amazing!! I had heard such great things over the years but had never tried it. I’m SO happy I ordered it and decided to try it because it is an amazing foundation. It isn’t oily looking and goes on so smooth and velvety. It also lasts ALL day long and I hardly need touch ups throughout the day. It can be a full-coverage or you can use a small amount for a more natural/“no makeup” look. After washing my face with the TULA probiotic purifying cleanser and using this light oil-free moisturizer, I will then apply a primer! I ALWAYS use this mineral primer and swear by it. It makes your foundation stay all day and it will smooth pores/fine lines. Then after letting that set for a minute or so, I get a dime size amount of foundation on my hand and apply it with a foundation brush. I always start on my nose and work my way out, then do around my mouth, chin and then my forehead.
I apply the foundation all over my face and little down my neck. Afterwards, I set everything with a loose translucent setting powder such as this one. I also love using this pressed powder when I have a tan to darken up my base makeup if it’s too light!
After applying my foundation, I will apply this Charlotte Tilbury bronzer for a slight contour up on my cheekbones and my forehead. I also contour my nose as well going down the sides with the bronzer.
Then I apply MAC Mineralize blush in the color “gentle” on the apples of my cheeks. I do small circular motions and swipe up towards my hairline. I just feel like this blush always completes the look and will totally brighten your face! It’s made of baked minerals and gives you a sheer and light blush application.
After that, it’s time for highlighter! With a small powder brush I will put some highlighter on the top of my cheekbones, forehead and down the bridge of my nose. I love the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish highlighter in the color “soft & gentle.” For summer, I also love the color “gold deposit” which gives your skin a subtle gold and glowy look.
After doing my face makeup, I apply my under-eye concealer! I have been using the Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Concealer and it works amazing. I blend it under my eye with a damp sponge like this one from Beauty Blender. I make sure its damp but all the water is squeezed out before I use it. I only use this type of sponge for applying my concealer. I have tried it with my entire face with foundation and I wasn’t crazy about the look it gave my skin. But it works great for under eye concealer!
After that, I use the MAC paint pot in the color “Painterly” and apply it all over my eyelids. It helps create a nice, neutral base color and helps my eye shadow stick. I use the color “inhale” from the Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat palette all over my lids. Then with a tapered eye shadow brush like this one from my Luxie Lux brush set. For my everyday makeup look, I always use a matte brown color like the color “heist” from the palette. I start in the outer corners of my eyes in a small circular motion and work my way towards the center. Whatever eye shadow is left over, I use a windshield wiper effect to spread it more into the eye crease. For summer, I love using this gold, creamy shadow from Charlotte Tilbury. You can’t really apply this wrong and is soo easy to use. If you have light colored eyes, the gold hue really makes your eye color pop! It gives a golden, shimmery sun-kissed look to your makeup which I love for summer! I will apply a small amount of the cream shadow in the center of my eyelids with my ring finger and spread it evenly. I almost always use a gel or liquid liner. But for summer I have been loving no liner on the top and just full, fluffy lashes- especially for the beach or pool!
I got my eyelash extensions taken out and have gone back to wearing false lashes. I plan on wearing them until all my lashes are fully grown back!! I have been using a lash growing serum like this one in the meantime until they are back to normal. I love the look of full and volume lashes, but not for everyday obviously. I recommend false lashes for photos, special events, or when you’re going out! After applying them for a while, they become really easy to apply and will take you 2 minutes more into your makeup routine. I recommend always using a dark glue so you can hide any mistakes. It will blend in with the black liner already. This is a great mascara to use for your everyday makeup! It just makes your eyes pop in photos and really brings out your eye color!
The final thing I do is apply my lip liner, lipstick and lip gloss! I almost always wear lip liner because I feel like it makes such a difference in the shape and size of my lips and makes it so my lipstick and gloss doesn’t go all over. It kinda holds everything in! After applying a small amount of this Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat liner in the color “pillowtalk”around my lip, I apply a light pink lipstick. I have been loving these neutral pinks from Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks such as “backtalk.” But my staple lip stick is always MAC “Angel.” It always looks so great and stays on so long! This soft, pink color is perfect for everyday and a great lipstick for brides as well! I love a milky pink gloss over the lipstick such as NARS lip gloss in “Turkish Delight.”
