Thanksgiving Tablescape with Mackenzie-Child’s!
I’m excited to be sharing the Mackenzie-Child’s Thanksgiving tablescape I created this year!
Wow, I can’t believe it is already November! I’ve said it before, but this year the holidays came so fast!! I can’t believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Fall is my absolute favorite season for so many reasons, but mainly I love the change of seasons and how it kicks off the holidays. We have loved starting new traditions as our little family grows and checking things off our Fall Bucket List. I feel like this year Kennedy has really started to realize what Halloween and Christmas mean, so that has been extra special for us to see the magic it brings to her.
I am not an interior designer by any means, but one thing I truly love is home decor and decorating for the holidays. I thought it would be fun to throw together a Thanksgiving tablescape at my in-laws house this year. I teamed up with my favorite home decor and lifestyle brand, Mackenzie-Child’s to make this happen. I had the amazing opportunity to visit Aurora, New York last Fall and stay there for a week with the Mackenzie-Child’s team. The team was nothing short of amazing and I loved visiting the headquarters. There mostly all the products are handmade and painted. I loved seeing the products in-person and getting a sense of all the work and thought that goes into every single product they sell. I love Mackenzie-Child’s because their dinnerware is so fun and unique. It’s hard to find anything else like it out there and it has a signature look!
For this Thanksgiving tablescape, I wanted to mix in dark, moody florals with the classic courtly check design. I saw this gorgeous flower arrangement online from a Fall wedding, and decided to re-create that for the centerpiece. I wanted it to last until Thanksgiving, so I went to my local Michael’s to get faux flowers instead. I then got a round glass vase and painted it gold. I love the Flower Market Collection dinner and salad plates mixed with the fluted courtly check dinner plate. The Courtly Check Collection is a classic set that can be mixed and matched with so many other collections and designs for any occasion! I also loved adding touches of Fall with the turkey and pumpkin candle holders. The orange candles from their new Glow candle line added warmth and tied it all together.
This year Thanksgiving really has a new meaning for us as a family! We are SO thankful for all the many blessings in our lives and the tender mercies we had this year. To be honest, even though it probably doesn’t seem like it from the outside, because I’m a pretty private person, but this year has been one of the challenging of my life. I went through a lot of ups and downs this year, mainly in terms of my health. I had a few health scares that really brought on a lot of anxiety for me and challended my capbilities as a mom. But I came out so much stronger after it all and realized how much more I am capable of!!
Despite those challenges, it also has been the most amazing year because our son Dane was born! He is the light of our lives and has truly completed our family. Every day we say how grateful we are to God blessing us with him. I still can’t believe he chose us to be his parents. I’m grateful for my health, my family’s health and our happiness as a family!!!
I hope you have a truly wonderful Thanksgiving and Holiday season!
